Oh, I'm so happy that you posted the link to blogger help. Here is a quote:
"If you use Internet Explorer 6+ in Windows Vista/XP/2000, you should have no problems in viewing and editing Hindi text correctly. Mozilla Firefox requires support for complex text layout, otherwise it might display the Hindi text incorrectly. "
So much for using a real browser.

What % of the population uses Hindi in Firefox?
We like to do things the hard way and we like manual, hard and interesting setup. We feel involved with the computer and like real hackers ;)
But seriously, out of the box setup is an improvement area
